Society for Game Cinematics Launches Inaugural Membership Program for Individuals and Studios

The first professional organization for game cinematics opens membership applications, inviting creators and studios to join its founding class and shape the future of cinematic storytelling in games.
Los Angeles, CA, April 21, 2025 — The Society for Game Cinematics (SGC), the nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the craft, community, and recognition of game cinematics, proudly announces the launch of its first-ever membership program for individual creators and studio partners.
This long-anticipated milestone marks the realization of a vision years in the making: to build a professional home for the artists and studios behind some of the most emotionally resonant and visually powerful moments in games.
“Game cinematics and cutscenes are the bridge between gameplay and emotion — where storytelling, art, and technology collide to create unforgettable moments. But at the heart of it all are the people: the artists, directors, animators, producers, editors, sound designers, and visionaries who bring these worlds to life,” said Emily Hsu, SGC President.
“From the very beginning, launching a membership program to celebrate and support these creators has been one of our biggest goals. Today, that dream becomes reality — and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome our founding class later this year.”
Membership Details
Individual Membership
Open to creatives across all disciplines — from cinematic directors and animators to sound designers, editors, and producers. Individual members will gain early access to SGC’s events, programs, and resources, and will be eligible for participation in driving the future of the organization forward, including participating on committees and voting on future initiatives.
Application Deadline for Individual Memberships:
Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM PT
Applicants who are accepted as part of SGC’s inaugural membership class will be recognized as Founding Members, a one-time distinction in the organization’s history.
Studio Membership
Designed for game studios, publishers, and service providers who produce or support cinematic work in games. Studio members will receive sponsorship recognition and opportunities to spotlight their teams and talent.
