All SGC-affiliated events must be focused around a professional, positive, and inclusive environment intended for networking and discussing conceptual ideas. These guidelines outline the Society’s expectations in order to create a safe environment for everyone and ensure the longevity of our community for years to come.
At all SGC-affiliated platforms, communications, and events (whether in-person or virtual), it is strictly prohibited to do the following, and any attendee can be removed for:
Failure to follow established venue policies or local laws.
Abusing alcohol to excess.
Intimidating, threatening, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, demeaning or disorderly conduct.
Possession, use, or distribution of any illegal substances or weapons.
Making statements that discriminate based on color, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, gender, disability or genetic information.
Making statements that incite ethnic or racial hatred or discrimination, gender or sexual orientation discrimination, advocate violence in any form, and/or outrage religious feelings of other users.
Encouraging other users to violate the rules of conduct.
If you see something, say something. Immediately inform any SGC officer or Committee Chair in person, by phone, by email, or through Discord if you experience a distressing situation.
If a participant is in violation of the Code of Conduct, any Society For Game Cinematics officer or Committee Representative may warn the participant for such violation or may, at The Society For Game Cinematics’ sole discretion, immediately remove the participant.
We strive to provide you with unique access to thoughtful sharing of knowledge and building relationships within the industry. We’d like to thank you in advance for following the guidelines outlined in this code of conduct!
